Miss K-State Competition is tonight
Kansas State University's Delta Upsilon fraternity and Union Program Council will host the third annual Miss K-State Competition at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at McCain Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $6.50.
This year, 20 contestants from organizations on K-State's Manhattan campus will compete in four different rounds — wildcat round, talent round, career round and question round — to win the title of Miss K-State 2015. In past years competitions, women have performed covers of their favorite songs, monologues, dance routines and everything in between. Previous judges have been campus professors and faculty.
All profits for the event are donated to Delta Upsilon's international philanthropy, the Global Service Initiative, or GSI. Donations will be used for material and supplies for service trips.
The GSI service-immersion trip for Delta Upsilon members is a seven-day experience, according to Delta Upsilon International. GSI offers members a unique opportunity to engage in direct service in developing nations and in the United States while uniting their actions with the Principles of the Fraternity.
