K-State Inline Hockey Club hosts a preseason tournament on campus Sunday
The Kansas State Inline Hockey Club will host a preseason hockey tournament Sunday, Sept. 27, at the MAC gym in the Peter's Recreation Complex.
To get ready for the Great Plains Collegiate Inline Hockey League's 2015-16 season, we have invited three teams to campus for a round-robin tournament. The teams are the Central Missouri State Mules, the Wichita Albino Rhinos and the Garden City Taurus Hockey Clubs.
The tournament schedule:
10 a.m. — Central Missouri vs. Kansas State
11 a.m. — Wichita vs. Garden City
Noon — Garden City vs. Kansas State
1 p.m. — Wichita vs. Central Missouri
2 p.m. — Garden City vs. Central Missouri
3 p.m. — Wichita vs. Kansas State
All games are free and open to the public.
Last Sunday's third annual Border Battle for Autism preseason contest in Shawnee with the University of Missouri raised more than $850 for the Autism Society-the Heartland. Although we failed to win that game, both teams gained very valuable experience and together entertained a good sized crowd .
The rec center will open early for the hockey games only. The rest of the rec will open at the normally scheduled time.
