Engineering extension team takes part in international radon symposium
Three members of the engineering extension office in the College of Engineering took part in activities at the 2015 International Radon Symposium Sept. 20-23 in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Bruce Snead, director of engineering extension, presented four programs covering the national radon poster contest, schools and large-building radon measurement standards, quality assurance plans for radon mitigation professionals, and national radon proficiency program compliance and certification updates.
Extension specialists Kristina Snyder and Brian Hanson staffed an exhibit booth featuring radon training materials, and national and Kansas public education services offered by the office. More than 450 radon industry, and state and federal agency professionals attended the four-day event.
