JMC students winners in South Central Broadcast Society awards

Submitted by Tom Hallaq

Congratulations to students from the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications for their accomplishments in the South Central Broadcast Society video competition. Awards were presented at the annual conference Oct. 2-3 at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas.

Tana Akers, Dakota German and Amy Pond were awarded a grand prize for their entry, Chase Fortune — "Capable" in the Promotional Video/Music Video category. Other finalists recognized in the completion include Morgan Huelsman for her story "Fort Riley Live Fire" in the News Feature Package category and Aaron Finster and Katie Ellingsworth for their documentary entry "24 Hour Art Slam."

These awards represent a tremendous effort on the part of each student along with many hours of work to tell these stories. Please congratulate these students as you see them on campus or elsewhere.

Congratulations to each!
