A letter from 2015 Homecoming Grand Marshal Russell Hardin
Submitted by Russell Hardin, grand marshal for K-State's Homecoming
Dear Kansas State University Family,
I was one of many individuals who left World War II to go to college. I was most fortunate to be sent to Kansas State University. During my three years at K-State, I was privileged to be guided by the administration, alumni and athletics.
I was privileged to play football and to be captain of the team but most important was my degree in veterinary medicine, which allowed me to practice in my home state of Indiana for 40 years.
My time at K-State was the basis for success in my life.
Being selected by the All-University Homecoming Committee to serve as grand marshal for the 2015 Homecoming Parade was the climax to the happiness I enjoyed at K-State. Thank you to the K-State Alumni Association for helping to keep the homecoming tradition alive at K-State for 100 years. May the next 100 years of homecoming bring great memories to future generations of the K-State family.
Sincerely,
Dr. Russell Hardin, DVM
Kansas State University alumnus, Class of 1946
