Faculty perform with the Thundering Cats Big Band
Submitted by Frederick Burrack
Faculty and staff Alfred Cochran, Phillip Payne, Jim Shanteu, Craig Weston, Fred Burrack, Pete Paukstalis, Patricia Thompson and Joshua Oppenheim, and students Danial Dissmore and Nolan Groff will be performing with the Thundering Cats Big Band in a benefit Christmas Concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Peace Memorial Auditorium, south section of Manhattan City Hall.
The concert will be fashioned after Glenn Miller's radio shows. Music included will be Basie's "Queen Bee", a great arrangement of "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear." Glenn Miller's arrangement of "Jingle Bells" and Duke Ellington's settings of the Nutcracker Suite — selected. Our vocalists Patricia Thompson and Pete Paukstelis will each be doing two numbers and will sing together "Baby, It's Cold Outside."
