Short-term disability, accident death and dismemberment, and life insurance offered by The Hartford

The TEA board of directors, in cooperation with Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Co., The Hartford, and Human Capital Services, is offering life insurance, short-term disability and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.

An open enrollment period will be in effect from Friday, April 8, to Friday, April 29, to enroll in these benefits. Benefit counselors will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 12-13 at the K-State Student Union in Room 209. The counselors will meet with you to discuss your personal needs and current situation, then assist with finding the right benefits for you and your family. The Hartford also will have presentations at 2 p.m. April 12 and 9 a.m. April 13 at the K-State Student Union in Room 227. The April 12 presentation will be live streamed and recorded for future viewing on Human Capital Services' website.

Applying during the open enrollment period provides you with $100,000 in life insurance coverage without evidence of insurability. Premiums are deducted through payroll deductions. All enrollments will be done through the Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company, The Hartford's, website.

Please note: You must be a member of the Teachers and Employees Association, TEA, of Kansas State University to participate in this group insurance program. To become a member of TEA please see the TEA information on the Human Capital Services website. There is a one-time membership processing fee of $10 to join TEA. This fee is separate from your insurance premiums and must be paid outside any insurance transaction. Please submit your personal check or money order — made payable to TEA of KSU — to: TEA, 1810 Kerr Drive, 103 Edwards Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506. You may enroll in benefits through The Hartford prior to remitting your $10 to Human Capital Services.
