College of Business Administration announces spring faculty and staff awards

The Kansas State University College of Business Administration has selected the 2016 recipients of the Ralph E. Reitz Outstanding Teaching Award, the Developing Scholar Research Award and the Kansas State Bank Outstanding Advising Award.

David Fallin, an instructor in the department of marketing, is the 2016 recipient of the Ralph E. Reitz Outstanding Teaching Award. Fallin, who teaches large sections of Marketing 400, demonstrates a strong connection with his students and a desire to see them succeed. Repeatedly, student nominations emphasized how much he genuinely cares for his students and the dedication to teaching he shows in the classroom each day.

The 2016 recipient of the Developing Scholar Research Award is assistant professor of management Saurav Pathak. Although he has only been at K-State for a short time, Pathak has already shown great potential to produce high-quality research. In the past two years, he has produced six journal publications, two book chapters and three manuscripts under revision for resubmission — in addition to several other working papers, which have either been submitted or targeted to top journals.

Linsey Cordill, academic advisor, is the 2016 recipient of the Kansas State Bank Outstanding Advising Award. Student nominations of Cordill emphasized the impact she has had on their success as they navigate through the collegiate experience. In addition to her responsibilities as an advisor, she has also been heavily involved with several organizations within the college and at the university level.

"I would like to thank the college's faculty, staff and students for participating in the nomination process for the spring faculty and staff awards," said Kevin Gwinner, Edgerley family dean of the College of Business Administration. "The awards committee commented on how difficult it is to select just one recipient from a pool of such excellently qualified nominees, and I commend them for recommending these most deserving recipients."
