Participants needed for infant eye tracking research study

Submitted by Jennifer Francois

The Infant Language and Learning Lab in the early childhood unit of the School of Family Studies and Human Services seeks participants who are between 11 to 13 weeks old, weighing between 5.5-10 pounds at birth and were born between 36 and 40 weeks gestation.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between eye gaze and language acquisition in young infants through displaying pictures of familiar and unfamiliar people.

The study involves four short visits, every two weeks, to the Infant Language and Learning Lab on the Kansas State University campus. Participants' mothers will be asked to complete paperwork and have their photo taken. This photo will be used in a series of pictures that will be shown to your baby. Participants will receive a gift card upon completion of the first visit and another upon completion of the fourth visit. Participation is voluntary and you may choose to stop at any time.

Please contact Jennifer Francois at infantlab@k-state.edu or 785-532-2355 if you are interested in participating or would like additional information. This study has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and has received approval #8044.
