PepsiCo principal scientist to present seminar
John Mathew, principal scientist with PepsiCo Global Research and Development, will deliver a joint seminar at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, in 009 Waters Hall. All are welcome for refreshments and conversation followed by Mathew's presentation, "Snack Food Product Development in Industry Settings."
Mathew, a K-State alumnus with a doctorate in grain science, has led a special partnership between K‐State and PepsiCo in research, teaching and student recruitment. He has vast experience in product development across various platforms, including Lay's Stax, Tostitos Chunky Salsa, Whole Grain Doritos and Mac 'n Cheetos, as well as 14 approved and seven pending patents. Mathew was awarded the 2011 Grain Science Outstanding Service Award for his contribution to the department and university.
The seminar is jointly sponsored by the grain science and industry department in the College of Agriculture and the food, nutrition, dietetics and health department in the College of Human Ecology.
