Graduate Student Council announces events and activities for fall semester
The Graduate Student Council announces the fall 2016 events and activities for the graduate student body.
Graduate Student Council offers professional development seminars and workshops, student socials and activities and research forums for all graduate students.
The first professional development workshop "Building Your Professional Network" is from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, in the K-State Student Union's Big 12 Room.
The event will feature guest speaker Rebecca Robinson, director of economic development for the K-State Institute of Commercialization. This event will focus on building and maintaining your professional network in various contexts.
Topics covered during the session will include:
- Creating an online professional profile.
- Utilizing social media to build your professional network.
- Networking in person at conferences and other professional events.
- How to use business cards for networking.
Registration is required for the event.
If you attend five professional development workshops throughout the academic year you will receive a Graduate Student Council certificate.
