Kansas Forest Service welcomes new district forester and new senior administrative assistant

The Kansas Forest Service welcomes new District 7 forester Jami Seirer to northwest Kansas. Her office is in Hays. Seirer is a western Kansas native and is very pleased to work to maintain the health, beauty and productivity of our natural resources.
Seirer graduated from Fort Hays State University in 2012, earning a bachelor's degree in computer science with an emphasis in geographical information systems and remote sensing. She later attended the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana, where she earned a master's degree in forestry.
Ariel LaVarnway joins the Kansas Forest Service as senior administrative assistant in the state office in Manhattan.
LaVarnway is an Oklahoma native but most recently lived in southern Georgia. LaVarnway is a proud army wife and enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her dog, Scout.
