Why I Give Week: How philanthropy has helped K-State

Submitted by Gaby Riggs

As the fourth annual Why I Give Week kicks off Nov. 7, the Student Foundation highlights how financial gifts have helped K-State:

• Banners outside buildings throughout campus will illustrate the facilities supported by philanthropy.

• Purple flags on the quad will illustrate more than 6,000 students who received privately-funded scholarships last year and more than $14 million in philanthropic gifts transferred to campus for student scholarships last year.

The KSU Foundation works with individuals, corporations and foundations to unite philanthropic desires with university priorities. The student-led K-State Student Foundation extends that mission by engaging campus in philanthropic fundraising and awareness activities.
