'Thirsty Thursday' research social to discuss interdisciplinary NIH opportunities
The College of Arts & Sciences is hosting a "Thirsty Thursday" gathering from 5:30-7 p.m. Nov. 10 at Tallgrass Taphouse, 320 Poyntz Ave. for faculty to get together and discuss collaborative and interdisciplinary research opportunities.
This event will focus on projects that might be fundable by the National Institutes of Health.
Kim Kirkpatrick, professor of psychological sciences, and Stefan Bossmann, professor of chemistry, have successfully led team proposals to NIH and will talk briefly about their experience and offer advice on "herding cats" to form the teams.
The rest of the evening will be dedicated to informal discussions about research interests and opportunities. No RSVP necessary. All disciplines welcome.
"Thirsty Thursday" is sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences and the K-State Social Club.
