After an internal search, Stephanie Bannister has been selected as Kansas State University's new assistant vice president for student life. Bannister will fulfill the responsibilities of three administrators who retired in 2016 and the position is a result of the merger and reorganization of several student success programs.
"I am very pleased with Dr. Bannister's work in the past seven months as the interim assistant vice president," said Pat Bosco, vice president for student life and dean of students. "She has successfully led us through a series of workshops and study groups to reorganize and merge K-State's student success programs and I am excited to see where her leadership will take the Division of Student Life."
Bannister has served the university in many leadership positions. She was assistant director of housing and dining services from 1999-2007. She became the associate director of housing and dining services in 2007, in which she oversaw marketing and communications for housing and dining, student living areas of departmental initiatives, apartment living and residence life. She currently teaches in the Staley School of Leadership Studies and in the graduate program for counseling and student personnel, and is the co-lead of the living learning initiative at K-State, a K-State 2025 project.
