University Advising Committee professional development grants
The University Advising Committee announces the spring semester round of its annual professional development grant program. All K-State faculty and staff are eligible to apply for up to five grants which are worth up to $750 each.
These grants might be used to subsidize travel to a scholarly or professional meeting at which the recipient anticipates benefit to accrue to their own or to their unit's academic advising. One past recipient creatively proposed using funding to host a specialized advising expert at K-State.
To apply, send a succinct letter of application to Steve Dandaneau, University Advising Committee co-chair, at dandaneau@k-state.edu. The application deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13. Applicants should specify the proposed professional development and provide sufficient detail to permit the selection committee adequate information upon which to evaluate the proposal's probable good consequence for the applicant and/or for a specific K-State unit. Applicants should also, as indication of their support, copy their immediate supervisor in the submission email message.
First-time applicants are encouraged to apply and are given priority over prior recipients. It is expected that proposed professional development will occur in 2017. The selection committee for this semester is Stephanie Bannister, University Advising Committee co-chair; Brad Cunningham, advisor, College of Business Administration; and Tanya Gonzalez, associate professor of English.
Please send any questions to Dandaneau at dandaneau@k-state.edu.
