Díaz de Sabatés presents seminar on gender and social violence
Submitted by Gabriela Diaz de Sabates
Gabriela Díaz de Sabatés, assistant professor of gender, women, and sexuality studies, presented a weeklong seminar in March on gender and social violence at the University of Mendoza in Mendoza, Argentina. The seminar was open to faculty, university administrators and community leaders.
Díaz de Sabatés' presentation is part of a larger institutional collaborative endeavor between K-State and the University of Mendoza, established by the Office of International Programs in 2015. This seminar will be provided on a yearly basis and will foster the exchange of faculty and students' ideas and projects via face-to-face seminars and study abroad exchanges, as well as using existing technology for remote classroom-to-classroom communication and collaboration.
Díaz de Sabatés also is serving as a member of the University of Mendoza's administration committee that advises the university on the creation of its graduate program in Gender and Violence, which will be launched at the end of April.
