Submitted by Communications and Marketing
K-Staters are invited to a dedication ceremony from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Memorial Stadium.
The stadium, built in the 1920s to honor the 48 K-State students and alumni who died in World War I, was never fully completed to its original design and never dedicated. At the ceremony, the stadium will be dedicated to the 48 fallen soldiers. The ceremony coincides with the 100th anniversary of U.S. entry into World War I.
Richard B. Myers, president of Kansas State University, and Matthew Naylor, president and CEO of the National World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri, will speak at the event.
