Graduate Student Council professional development: Making a CASE for Science
Join the Graduate Student Council for the fifth professional development workshop of the fall semester, Making a CASE for Science: An Intro to Science Policy at 3 p.m. Sept. 27 in the K-State Student Union's Wildcat Chamber.
K-State graduate students are teaming up to introduce you to science policy. This seminar is designed to help you learn the ins and outs of science policy and some tips for engaging with politicians and your community. Whether you are a political junkie or someone who prefers to stick to science conversations over dinner, there is pressing need for all scientists to show off the excitement and societal impacts that accompany our research.
Graduate students will share science policy opportunities and their experiences on Capitol Hill as a part of the AAAS Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering, or CASE, workshop. Most importantly, don't miss the discussion of how you can begin your scientific advocacy on campus this semester. Designed for those new and familiar with science policy — all disciplines are welcome.
This workshop is part of the Graduate Student Council professional development series.
