K-State Confucius Institute presents Chinese folk music concert Oct. 24
The K-State Confucius Institute will present a Chinese folk music concert from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in Forum Hall at the K-State Student Union.
The concert will be a great opportunity to enjoy authentic Chinese folk music. It will feature the Chinese Folk Music Student Orchestra from Xi'an Jiaotong University, which will play a number of folk music numbers that have originated over different periods of Chinese history.
Zhang Yanwu, conductor, is a renowned composer and flutist specializing in the bamboo flute and has led the orchestra to play in many campus venues in China and overseas. The cost is $5 for nonstudents and $3 for K-State students, with free admission for children 10 years and younger. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the Confucius Institute or at the door the day of the event.
