Expression of Strengths Symposium for College of Arts and Sciences
The College of Arts and Sciences invites all faculty, staff and students to attend a symposium from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, in 301 Clavin Hall. The symposium will showcase selected research projects within the college, including the 2018 edition of Expression of University Strengths, published by the K-State Governmental Relations Office and distributed to federal legislative offices.
The symposium will include a five-minute presentation and five-minute Q&A session for each of the following research projects. Guests are welcome to attend individual presentations or stay for the entirety of the event. Light refreshments will be served.

3:50 p.m.: "NSF National Ecological Observatory Network, or NEON," presented by John Blair, Division of Biology
4 p.m.: "Kansas Lipidomics Research Center: Poised for Discoveries Critical to Crop Improvement," presented by Ruth Welti, Division of Biology
4:10 p.m.: Break
4:20 p.m.: "Agro-combs: Using tools from physics to solve the challenges of agronomy," presented by Brian Washburn, Department of Physics
4:30 p.m.: "Cognitive and Neurobiological Approaches to Plasticity, or CNAP, Center," presented by Kimberly Kirkpatrick, Department of Psychological Sciences
4:40 p.m.: "Scene Perception and Event Comprehension Theory, or SPECT: An integrated computational, behavioral and neuroscientific model of event perception, understanding, and memory," presented by Lester Loschky, Department of Psychological Sciences
