K-State Confucius Institute to host lecture, 'The Culture Surrounding Traditional Chinese Clothing'
The K-State Confucius Institute will host a lecture, "The Culture Surrounding Traditional Chinese Clothing," from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in 227 K-State Student Union.
In addition to covering the body and keeping people warm, clothing also plays a significant role in displaying the aesthetics of a particular culture, nation or time period. This lecture, presented by Shijun Yan, associate director of the Confucius Institute, will cover the social significance and traditional heritage of Chinese clothing throughout its 5,000 years of history.
This event is free and open to the public.
