The A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications will host alumni Jean Folkerts and Leroy Towns as part of its How I Landed My Job lecture series from 4-5 p.m. Monday, April 9, in 105 Kedzie Hall.

Folkerts and Towns met at K-State. As students, they created jobs for themselves as correspondents in South Vietnam, covering Kansans in the war zone. Among their later accomplishments, she was dean of the journalism school at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and he was professor of practice at UNC-Chapel Hill and Sen. Pat Roberts' chief of staff. Folkerts is currently the interim director of the A.Q. Miller School.

Folkerts and Towns will discuss their time at K-State, their job search processes and their experiences in the field. Students, faculty and staff from all departments are encouraged to attend this free event. This event is a registered K-State 360 event.
