Help with the Out of the Darkness Walk

Submitted by Abigail Newkirk

According to K-State's Counseling Services, suicide is the second leading cause of death for the 15-24 age group. Approximately one Kansan died by suicide each day in 2016. Here in Manhattan, we have had a rise in the number of people who have died from suicide in recent months. This tragic topic is very prevalent and important to the K-State campus and community.

You can help with suicide prevention.

Join Counseling Services and Peer Advocates for Mental Wellness and Success, or P.A.W.S., by going to afsp.org/k-state and sign up to walk. You can make a team with your friends, family, or classmates to help raise funds for this amazing cause. Please take a stand with us and join us on Saturday, April 14. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the walk starts at noon.
