Save the date: Retirement reception for Distinguished Professor of Music David Littrell
Please join Distinguished Professor of Music David Littrell and his colleagues in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance for a reception in honor of his retirement from 4-6 p.m. Friday, April 27, in the K-State Alumni Center Ballroom. Remarks will begin at 5:15 p.m.
Littrell is completing 31 years as a faculty member when he retires this May. He has conducted the Kansas State University Orchestra for 28 years and has taught cello, double bass, string techniques and music theory. He also conducted the specially formed K-State Chamber Orchestra that toured England and Scotland in 2008 and Ireland in 2011 and 2017.
The final performance of the K-State Orchestra under Littrell's leadership will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in McCain Auditorium. In addition to conducting, Littrell will perform as cello soloist on the program.
