Student media host hundreds of high school journalists
Collegian Media Group, publisher of the Kansas State Collegian and Royal Purple yearbook, is hosting nearly 300 high school students on the K-State campus today in conjunction with the Kansas Scholastic Press Association's Fall Conference.
The conference features dozens of breakout sessions for students to develop skills in reporting, design, photography, editing, online media and more. Kim Green, the Journalism Education Association’s 2012 national Yearbook Adviser of the Year, will deliver the keynote address. Green is the adviser at North High School, Columbus, Ind.
Among the instructors for the conference are several faculty members of the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Several JMC Ambassadors are also volunteering during the event.
