Research volunteer opportunity
If you want to find out more about your health by participating in a relaxed study hall, this opportunity is for you. We are looking for volunteers for a research study examining the effects of increased sedentary behavior in physically active people.
The study is eight weeks in duration and requires four or five days per week for either two and one-half or two hours time respectively. Requirements for the study include: people working out on a regular basis, or at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity; between the ages of 18 and 40 years; and able to spend 10 hours per week in a relaxing setting working on whatever they choose.
Participants will learn more about their health, including a DXA to determine body composition, cholesterol and triglycerides, fasting glucose, lung function, inflammation and oxidative stress, and typical time spent in the various physical activity domains including time spent being sedentary.
This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board at Kansas State University. IRB Approval No. 6290
