'UnBEElivable': An exhibition at the Chapman Gallery by Master of Fine Arts candidate Mauresa Mitchell
The College of Arts and Sciences' art department will present the exhibition "UnBEElievable" by Master of Fine Arts candidate Mauresa Mitchell from Jan. 22-25 in the Mark A. Chapman Gallery in Willard Hall. A reception will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, in the gallery. Events are free and open to the public.
"UnBEElievable" aims to interact with visitors while creating a dialogue about the importance of honeybees in our society.
Mitchell is from Houston, Texas, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, she was selected to be a semifinalist in the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, receiving a silver award in both Editorial and Illustration categories. She has additionally had multiple works accepted into the Adobe Showcase and the National Student Show.
Interested in the power of digital interactive design as a learning tool, Mitchell has explored ways in which museums use interactive design within their exhibits. Investigating visitor experiences and interactive designs, Mitchell has created an extension of her findings through an interactive exhibition of her own.
The exhibition is presented as part of the Master of Fine Arts requirements. The show is made possible in part, by funding from K-State fine arts fees, and support from the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Small Grant Program for K-State Graduate Students.
