Legislative Update
Last week, President Richard Myers testified before the Senate Ways and Means Subcommittee on Higher Education. His testimony is posted online.
This week, the Senate Subcommittee will deliberate on the higher education budgets and report its recommendations to the Senate Ways and Means Committee on Thursday, March 14.
On Wednesday, March 13, the Senate Education Committee will have hearings on Senate Bill 2168, authorizing Kansas State University to sell property in Cherokee, Riley and Saline counties.
Finally, the House Federal and State Affairs is reviewing a subcommittee report on legalizing sports betting in Kansas. The discussions will continue in the committee over the next several weeks.
The Office of Government Relations hosts bimonthly Legislative Updates. Future dates include March 22, March 29 and April 12. All updates are brown bag sessions at noon in the K-State Student Union's Cottonwood Room.
