Pat Schwandt retires from Human Capital Services

Submitted by Human Capital Services

Pat Schwandt will retire from Human Capital Services after more than 38 years of service at Kansas State University.

Schwandt is a human capital specialist I in the Resource Center and Operations unit and serves as an HCS departmental liaison to many campus departments with regard to transaction processing. Schwandt has seen the growth and evolution from manual paper processing to the automated processes that exist today within the HRIS system. She has been an instrumental part of the HCS team as it has evolved through the years. Her experience, knowledge and expertise will be deeply missed.

Schwandt first began employment with K-State in January 1976. She was a food service worker in the Derby Food Center for many years, then promoted to the chemistry department in a storekeeper position. In May 1993, Schwandt began her career in Human Resource Services as an office assistant III in the payroll section. She was later promoted into an office assistant IV position and was responsible for processing payroll for hourly students. In August of 2000, Schwandt transferred into her role as a department liaison where she has served the campus community in numerous ways. Schwandt is known for her friendly and helpful demeanor, with service to our employees as her top priority.

Schwandt's last day with Human Capital Services will be Wednesday, April 10.
