Submitted by Human Capital Services
Human Capital Services will host a reception to honor Roberta Maldonado Franzen for her years of service and contributions to Kansas State University. She has recently resigned her position to pursue a doctorate in leadership studies. Please join us from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Union Station by JP's to celebrate and wish her the best of luck.
She joined the Kansas State University community in spring 2010 and has worked in the College of Human Ecology, Office of Institutional Equity and Human Capital Services. She came to K-State with more than 10 years of experience at Fortune 500 companies and a nonprofit organization.
During her tenure at K-State, Maldonado Franzen served as the project lead at a kaizen event for the continuous improvement process to streamline the university hiring process. As a result, an applicant tracking system was implemented. Under her leadership, an executive search firm was established at the university, advertising for position openings was centralized, a global competency framework was acquired and a community of practice was assembled to engage stakeholders in HR practices. Her leadership and practices she established in these areas have saved the university hundreds of thousands of dollars and directly contributed to a candidate experience that is second to none. Her positive impacts will continue beyond her time here. She led the Talent Acquisition team that is a proud recipient of the 2016 CUPA-HR Mid-West Region HR Excellence Award.
Maldonado Franzen's last day in Human Capital Services was April 5.
