April 20 is the United Nations Chinese Language Day and also the Tea Day in China. The Confucius Institute and the Chinese language program in the modern languages department are jointly hosting a fun event from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, in the K-State Student Union courtyard to celebrate this special day.

The event will include music, calligraphy, crafts, games, Chinese snacks and freshly brewed Chinese tea. Students from the Chinese language program will showcase their Chinese-speaking skills.

Participants also can learn to write their names in Chinese on traditional rice paper using brushes. It is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating culture for an hour and have fun. The event is free and everyone is welcome.
