American ethnic studies professor publishes co-edited collection on Latinx feminist philosopher
Shireen Roshanravan, associate professor of American ethnic studies, published "Speaking Face to Face: The Visionary Philosophy of María Lugones" with State University of New York Press (Praxis: Theory in Action series).
Co-edited with Pedro DiPIetro, assistant professor of Women's and Gender Studies at Syracuse University, and Jennifer McWeeny, associate professor of philosophy at Worcester Polytechnic University, the book offers the first in-depth look at the feminist praxis of renowned Argentinean-born scholar, activist, popular educator, community organizer, philosopher and cultural worker, María Lugones. The book includes 13 original contributions that engage Lugones's theorizing within contemporary debates on intersectionality, decolonial feminisms, queer studies, women of color coalition politics, complex communication, and radical multiculturalism.
Copies of the book are available for order from the SUNY Press website.
