Modern languages faculty present at Hispanic literature conference
Four modern languages faculty members presented papers at the Mid-America Conference on Hispanic Literature, Oct. 12-14, in Lincoln, Neb.

- María Teresa DePaoli presented "Is there a Black National Mother? Exploring the Cultural Notion of Motherhood and the Afro-Mexican Female Soldier in the Literary and Film Representations of La negra Angustias."
- Laura Kanost presented "Self-translation and the Entomological Eye of Carmen Lyra."
- Salvador Oropesa presented "La imposibilidad de la emigración: Representación y nostalgia en Leonora (2011) de Elena Poniatowska."
