Psychology faculty publish, make presentations
Recent presentations and publications by faculty from K-State's department of psychology and colleagues include:
Mark Barnett, professor of psychology, and graduate students presented "An investigation of the characteristics, experiences and attitudes of Court Appointed Special Advocate -- or CASA -- volunteers" at the recent Great Plains Students' psychology convention at Washburn University.
Gary Brase, associate professor of psychology, and graduate students gave the poster presentation "What Affects Your Purchase Intent: Brand Name or Price?" at the 2011 conference of the Society of Consumer Psychology in Atlanta, Ga.
Donald Saucier, associate professor of psychology, and graduate student published "Terror management and sexual prejudice: The effects of mortality salience on heterosexuals’ attitudes toward gay men and lesbians," in the Journal of Homosexuality, vol. 58.
Kimberly Kirkpatrick, associate professor of psychology, gave the invited address "Individual Differences in Impulsivity" at the 25th annual meeting of the Texas Applied Behavior Analysis Association in February in Galveston, Texas.
Richard Robbins, assistant professor of special education, counseling and student affairs; Evan Eason, assistant professor of American ethnic studies; Brenda McDaniel, assistant professor of psychology; and colleagues wrote "Gifts of the Seven Winds Drug and Alcohol Prevention Model for American Indians," for Indigenous Mental Health and Healing on Turtle Island: A Multifaceted Approach, editors S. Stewart, R. Moodley and T. Beaulieu, in press.
