City of Manhattan to host Rental Housing Forum
Kansas State University and the K-State Student Governing Association are assisting the city of Manhattan in an effort to collect information regarding Manhattan's rental market. The purpose of collecting the information is to help city leaders gain a better understanding of public opinion regarding what is working and not working regarding property rental in the city.
All students, faculty and staff who are renters in Manhattan are invited to take a brief survey to share information regarding their rental experience. Access the survey here.
The city and SGA will then host a Manhattan Rental Housing Forum from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the K-State Student Union Ballroom. In addition to presentations on tenant and landlord responsibilities and renters' resources, feedback from the survey will be used to help facilitate discussions regarding current rental conditions and concerns. Your feedback and engagement in the survey and forum are important and will make a difference for future planning.
This initiative is one example of many that the university and city work on together and contributes to a strong town-gown relationship. In The Princeton Review's 2020 edition of "Best 385 Colleges" publication, K-State ranked No. 2 in the nation for a great relationship with the surrounding town.
