Submitted by Communications and Marketing

The office of student life is reaching out to students from the East Coast whose homes and families may be affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Student life staff is contacting students with a permenant address in the areas affected by the storm in recognition of the academic or emotional challenges in the coming weeks.

"We want students to know that we are here to offer support and guidance to all students, and we can help problem-solve and offer resources for academic and emotional concerns," said Heather Reed, associate dean for student life.

The office is in 102 Holton Hall and can be contacted at 785-532-6432 or stulife@k-state.edu.

Counseling is available at university counseling services, 232 English/Counseling Services Building.

Students can make an appointment or talk to their on-call staff at 785-532-6927 or email counsel@k-state.edu. The first four sessions have been paid for by student fees.
