K-Staters take the Jam in the Sunflower Showdown
Friday, Oct. 25, marked the first Adobe Creative Jam at K-State.
Hosted by the University of Kansas' William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications, K-State served as a satellite site for the event and hosted four teams of four to five students from departments across campus, including journalism and mass communications, art, education and more. Teams from K-State took first- and third-places in the competition.
All of the participating students left with new creative tools and a ton of excitement, looking forward to the next Creative Jam.
Winners will get Visa gift cards from Adobe. The winning teams:
- First place, $250: Team 20 from K-State, Flourish. Team members: Cassidy Winsor, Jordyn Peyla, Rebecca Vrbas and Ashley Read.
- Second place, $150: Team 3 from KU, Center Self.
- Third Place, $50: Team 17 from K-State, Mindful Eye. Team members: Ashley Arnold, Monica Melber, Angie Moss, Grady Salzman and Gabby Turvey.
Judges for the event were Eric Smejkal, product designer at Philosophie; Lauren Vajda, an art director and designer; and Karim Isa, business development manager at Adobe. The Jam also featured keynote speaker Yvonnes Chen and Mike Thibodeau who set the challenge stage and Ashley Dvorin who lead the XD Bootcamp.
