Celebrate National STEM Day with K-State COE alumni, STEM majors
Celebrate National STEM Day with science education and STEM majors, educators and science enthusiasts at the student chapter of the KSU-National Science Teaching Association's 2019-20 kickoff event Friday, Nov. 8. There's bound to be some group chemistry!
K-State alumni Alex Brown, chemistry teacher at Manhattan High School, and Subin Chun, chemistry teacher at Junction City High School, will each present at 4:30 p.m. in 21 Bluemont Hall.
Samantha Pilcher, secondary education-chemistry major and the publicity chair, said the meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
"As a new chapter, we are so excited to collaborate with alumni and connect with members of the K-State community celebrating STEM through creative and inventive ways," Pilcher said.
For more information about this event, please contact Pilcher at pilcher@k-state.edu.
Kimberly Staples, associate professor of curriculum and instruction, is the faculty advisor for the student chapter.
"Every day is a great day for science teachers to inspire and empower all students to innovate through STEM education," Staples said.
