Multicultural Engineering Program announces Faculty Engagement Awards

Multicultural Engineering Program Faculty Engagement Awards were presented to 11 recipients Nov. 19 at the fall 2019 Multicultural Engineering Ceremony.
Award winners are recognized for engaging, encouraging and accelerating the success of engineering graduating seniors. The 33 engineering graduating seniors involved in the Multicultural Engineering Program, comprising 14% of the fall 2019 graduating class of the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, nominated faculty members for this award.
The following recipients each received a clock and cardholder, acknowledging the time and expertise they have given to students:
David Ben-Arieh, professor, industrial and manufacturing systems engineering, nominated by Tara Doman, industrial engineering.
Amy Betz, associate professor and assistant dean for retention, diversity and inclusion, College of Engineering; nominated by Samantha Judd and Silvana Alcantara, both mechanical engineering.
Shannon Casebeer, assistant professor, architectural engineering and construction science, nominated by Miguel Chacon and Francisco Trevizo, both construction science and management.
Mitzi Farmer, academic advisor, mechanical and nuclear engineering; nominated by Rachel Stupp, mechanical engineering.
Bette Grauer, executive assistant to the dean, College of Engineering; nominated by Ore-Ofe Osunsanmi, chemical engineering.
Stacy Hutchinson, professor and associate dean for research and graduate programs, College of Engineering; nominated by Lupita Arreola, biological systems engineering.
Julia Keen, professor, architectural engineering and construction science; nominated by Liliana Delgado-Dominguez and Amy Nguyen, both architectural engineering.
Larry Moeder, assistant vice president for student life, director of student financial assistance and director of admissions; Kansas State University Office of the Provost; nominated by Andrew Gomez, mechanical engineering.
