Australian Fulbright opportunities
Applications for Americans to study in Australia as graduate students, postdocs or faculty open Feb. 3 and will close on July 15.
Applications for Australian scholars and professionals to study in the United States also open Feb. 3.
K-Staters applying for 2021 and 2022 Australian Fulbright awards can go to any college or university in Australia for three to fourth months (faculty) or for up to one year (graduate students and postdocs). Awards are given in all academic disciplines. Interviewed applicants should be notified of the status of their application by December 2020 and can begin their studies in Australia any time between July1, 2020, and June 30, 2022.
K-State sponsors two six-month Fulbright positions for senior Australian academics (may hold a college, university or government position). One, a distinguished chair in agriculture and life sciences, requires a host and a project in an appropriate area, while the second position can be tenured in any academic department or program at the university. Both positions require that a K-State host be identified prior to completion of the application. Faculty with Australian colleagues are encouraged to encourage their colleagues to apply for these awards.
Faculty who want to identify an appropriate Australian partner should contact John Leslie at jfl@k-state.edu for assistance. Timelines for application, evaluation and notification are the same as for those for Americans applying to go to Australia.
Fulbright awards are amongst the most prestigious of all international exchange awards. K-Staters interested in study abroad opportunities at the graduate student level, or higher, should seriously consider applying for one of these awards.
