The College of Arts and Sciences seeks internal nominations and applications for the Director of Chapman Center for Rural Studies. The director position is full time with a 50% academic year appointment in the center and up to three months summer support.
The expectations for leading the Chapman Center for Rural Studies include long-term strategic planning for the center, overseeing the staff, financial oversight of the program, fundraising and relationship management, pursuing external grants, overseeing the center's research program, and participating in outreach and engagement.
The Chapman Center is a center of excellence in the College of Arts and Sciences. Its mission is to further discover, preserve and share the history of rural Kansas. Through the establishment of a research lab, archives, curriculum and publications, the Chapman Center links the community of learners at Kansas State University with the communities of the past.
Screening of applications will begin on March 23 and will continue until the position is filled.
