Required IT security awareness training for employees now available

Submitted by Elizabeth Shannon

The office of information security and compliance has released a self-paced, online security awareness and training module. Secure IT introduces basic computer security concepts and good security practices and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. All K-State faculty, staff and employed students are required to complete annual security awareness training.

To access the training:

  1. Go to www.ksu.edu/its/security.
  2. On the left-hand menu, click Security Training.
  3. Sign in with your eID and password.
  4. Click 2013 IT Security Awareness Training.
  5. Click Start.

Once you complete the online security training, your personnel record in HRIS is updated. It is listed as course “Secure IT Baseline 2013″ with course code WIT008 under your “Training Summary” in “Learning and Development” in HRIS.

For questions about your training record, please contact Human Resources Training at training@k-state.edu or 532-6277. If you have questions about the security awareness training, contact the IT Help Desk at helpdesk@k-state.edu or 532-7722.
