Important information regarding leave
Submitted by Human Capital Services
Please note the following information regarding vacation leave accrual for the month of October and deadlines for the discretionary day.
October vacation leave accrual: The Oct. 29 paycheck will be the third paycheck in the month of October. Employees who accrue vacation leave will not accrue vacation hours with this paycheck. Vacation leave is accrued 22 out of the 26 pay periods, or 176 hours, each fiscal year. For fiscal year 2022, the paychecks with no vacation leave accrual include Oct. 29, 2021; April 29, 2022; and the last two pay periods of the fiscal year: June 10 and June 24, 2022.
Discretionary day: Employees who have not already used their discretionary day must do so by Dec. 25, 2021. With Dec. 24 being a holiday for benefit-eligible employees, most employees will need to use the discretionary day on or before Dec. 23. Refer to your leave balances in HRIS Self Service to determine if your discretionary day is still available. If the abbreviated word "D-Day" appears, the discretionary day is available. The "D-Day" will not display if the hours have been used. The discretionary day for 2022 will be available starting Dec. 26, 2021.
