Union food service moves forward with new management team
K-State Student Union's food service has added new members to its management team. Jim Roberts, Timothy Eleby and Jeffrey Clark have each accepted positions with Sodexo Inc., the Union food service contract provider, to bring their respective culinary specialties and expertise to Kansas State University.
Roberts, executive chef, has a vast background in food. His career in food service began at the age of 12 as a soda jerk at his local drugstore soda fountain. Roberts has been an executive chef for several businesses and companies including Grand Canyon National Park Lodges, Indian University Medical Center and the Stouffers Grand in downtown Indianapolis. In 1995, he was listed as one of the Top 100 chefs in America by Chefs America Association and has made six appearances on the Food Network.
Eleby, catering director, worked as the catering director for the University of St. Louis for seven years.
Clark, retail manager, attended culinary school in Kansas City and began work in hotels and country clubs both as a chef and as a manager. Clark was retail manager for Sodexo at Benedictine College in Atchison and at Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Sodexo, an industry leader of integrated food management services in the United States, Canada and Mexico with a rich history in commitment to diversity, sustainability and wellness initiatives, took over the operation of Union food service in January.
