K-State celebrates National Public Health Week
Kansas State University is celebrating National Public Health Week with several events hosted by the K-State master's degree and bachelor's degree public health programs.
From 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, the Comprehensive Public Health Group, a registered departmental student organization, is hosting Jay Tischendorf for a lecture titled “Something Wicked This Way Comes, Zoonotic Disease in our Modern World” in the Mara Conference Center on the fourth floor of Trotter Hall. RSVPs for dinner are requested and should be sent to barta@k-state.edu.
From 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, April 7, a public health poster session will be at the K-State Student Union courtyard. The posters will be judged and monetary awards will be given for undergraduate and graduate student categories. Topics for posters may be any public health-related topic. Please contact barta@k-state.edu for details and to submit your name and poster title for this poster session. Please also drop by the poster session to talk to Jennifer Miller, director of the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program, and Ellyn Mulcahy, director of the Master in Public Health program, about the K-State public health programs.
From 2-3 p.m. Friday, April 8, Tiasia Saunders, master's student in public health, and Tori Gleason, Health Equity consultant, will discuss “Accessibility: Closing the Health Equity Gap.” Please contact barta@k-state.edu for the Zoom link.
