History department announces scholarship, award recipients for 2022-2023
The history department is recognizing 12 undergraduate scholarship recipients and 11 graduate teaching award and travel/research grant recipients.
A total of $44,561.06 was awarded to undergraduates for distinguished scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year. More than $51,000 total was awarded to graduate students receiving prestigious teaching awards and travel/research grants for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Undergraduate recipients for the 2022-2023 academic year include:
- Heather Bigwood, Leo and Irene Chapman Excellence in History Scholarship and Charles M. Correll Memorial History Scholarship.
- Ashley Elliott, Department of History Undergraduate Student Research Award and Leo and Irene Chapman Excellence in History Scholarship.
- Kate Thomas, Cora Stewart Wilcoxon Undergraduate Scholarship and DeWyke Family History Scholarship.
- Kirsten Gross, Brendon M. Guth — Mary Vanier KSU Family Scholarship and Leo and Irene Chapman Excellence in History Scholarship.
- Austin Edwards, The Lois B. Turner Memorial Scholarship and Leo and Irene Chapman Excellence in History Scholarship.
- Brinna Wellington, Josie S. Sanders Memorial Scholarship in the Department of History and Robert D. Linder History Scholarship.
- Peyton Consani, Robert D. Linder History Scholarship and DeWyke Family History Scholarship.
- Logan Grauberger, Golda M. Crawford History Scholarship and Robert D. Linder History Scholarship.
- Chad Crittenden, Golda M. Crawford Scholarship and Cora Stewart Wilcoxon Undergraduate Scholarship.
- Jeremy Cox, Cora Stewart Wilcoxon Undergraduate Scholarship.
- Myra Peoples, Robert D. Linder History Scholarship.
- Wilbur Dodderidge, Charles M. Correll Memorial History Scholarship.

The 2022-2023 graduate student teaching award goes to Melanie Highsmith, who is receiving the Dr. A. Bower Sageser Memorial Scholarship.

- Brad Galka, Colonel Peter Cullen Military History Fellowship and Harvey Hougen Memorial Scholarship.

- Claudio Innocenti, Colonel Peter Cullen Military History Fellowship.
- Bryant Macfarlane, Robin Higham Military History Graduate Student Research and Travel Fund and Colonel Peter Cullen Military History Fellowship.
- Scott McIntosh, Cora Stewart Wilcoxon Graduate Fellowship and James C. Carey Graduate Student Research and Travel Fund.
