Four graduating students earn Multicultural Leadership Awards for service, leadership
The K-State Alumni Association will present Multicultural Leadership Awards to four outstanding graduating students for their leadership and service during their college careers at K-State.
The 2013 award recipients, who were nominated by K-State faculty members and selected by the Alumni Association board of directors and the Multicultural Alumni Council, are:
- Macario Benavides, education and modern languages, Allen, Texas
- Bronson Blackwell, accounting, Wichita
- Christa Martinez, social work, Wichita
- Angela Muhwezi, biology, Wichita
These graduating students have shown outstanding leadership and have actively promoted multicultural education on K-State’s campus and/or in the Manhattan community. The award winners will be recognized May 17 at the Multicultural Graduation Celebration at the K-State Alumni Center.
"These outstanding graduates have served as leaders of multicultural organizations and activities throughout their time at K-State," said Jessica Elmore, assistant director of multicultural programs for the Alumni Association. "It’s an honor to award these students for their service and leadership."
