Maoyong Fan to present Agricultural Economics Seminar Oct. 13
Maoyong Fan, professor of economics at Ball State University, will present "State Ownership and Cost-effectiveness of Environmental Policy: Firm-level Evidence" for the Agricultural Economics Seminar Series at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, in 342 Waters Hall.
Fan received his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009 and joined Ball State in the same year. His research interests include environmental economics, health economics and policy, labor economics and development economics. His research projects have crossed narrowly defined fields and disciplines. The research projects he has done cover the health effects of environmental pollution; health insurance designs and outcomes; labor migration; public health policies and demographics; and the causes of obesity. Other facets of his research fall into development, industrial organization and applied econometrics.
