Writing Center tutoring for undergraduate and graduate students resumes for spring semester
The English department Writing Center is open for the spring 2023 semester. Come write with us.
The center is offering three kinds of sessions this spring:
- In-person sessions. Student writers can make appointments to meet with a writing consultant for 30 minutes on the Writing Center's face-to-face schedule. Sessions are available Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Writing Center, and Mondays and Tuesdays 5-7 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays 3-5 p.m. in Hale Library.
- Asynchronous eTutoring Sessions. The Writing Center's "Get Written Feedback" schedule allows student writers to submit their writing and receive written feedback from a writing consultant within 48 hours. Sessions are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so that feedback can be delivered to writers within the school week. Consultants will respond to issues of clarity, organization and development of content.
- Online Video Sessions. The center's Friday morning live video tutoring schedule allows student writers with the technology to support video conferencing — a computer with a camera and speaker/microphone — to upload their document and meet with a writing consultant online in a 30-45 minute video chat.
For spring 2023, tutoring sessions will run through the last day of classes for the spring term, Friday, May 5.
All writing tutoring sessions are by appointment and can be scheduled through the English department Writing Center website.
Additional information for instructors about virtual writing support for students, including the Writing Center's Canvas module, is available from the English department blog.
The Writing Center is sponsored by the English department in the College of Arts and Sciences and by Student Governing Association through Student-Centered Tuition Enhancement funding.
